This week the All Bucs Squad didn’t quite meet their 100.6 projections and only got 88.98.
If I would have started Giovani Bernard over Ronald Jones it would have given the team an additional 19 points. The Bucs played from behind pretty much the whole game, so the team gave up on the run early, and both Leonard Fournette and Ronald Jones were ineffective. This opened the door for Bernard to play a lot in the second half, where he became Tom Brady’s favorite check down receiver.
Tyler Johnson also would have been a better start than Scotty Miller. Johnson took full advantage of Antonio Brown being out due to COVID drawing 6 targets from Tom Brady. Johnson had 3 catches for 63 yards.
- Total Points: 28.68
- Brady is going to need to ice that arm after this one. Brady threw a total of 55 times and the old man even ran one in for 6 points. Brady played pretty well in the loss to the Rams, if only the defense could have helped him out.
- Total Points: 20.1
- Bernard showed Bucsnation why the team signed him this offseason. Bernard was able to show off his catching skills by catching 9 of 10 targets for 51 yards and Brady’s only TD pass of the day.
- Total Points: 19.6
- Godwin continues to be Mr. Reliable by catching 6 of 7 targets for 74 yards and he even scored his first rushing TD of his career.
- Total Points: 18.6
- Evans had his first 100 yard receiving day on the season bringing in 8 of 10 targets. It was good to see Evans play his best game of the year, even with the Bucs losing the contest.
Even though, I didn’t set the best lineup and the actual Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost the game, the All Bucs Squad came away with the W this week. The victory was sealed after the completion of Sunday afternoon games with no one on the opposing team left to play in either the Sunday Night game or Monday Night game.
The All Bucs Squad won 88.98 to 84.78 against a pretty good team. They faced off against a team with fantasy football juggernauts DeAndre Hopkins, Tyreek Hill, and Darren Waller. Luckily for the All Bucs Squad all 3 of those players had a down week with all of them each scoring 10 or less points.
The All Bucs Squad moves to 2-1 on the season and it’s still looking like this could have been a good fantasy football draft strategy.
Overall Record: 2-1
