It’s Friday night and I got off work early, edged and mowed the grass and now it’s time for some chilling, stogies, Mountain Dew and a Sopranos marathon.
Normally I love strong cigars, but the Perdomo 20th Anniversary Maduro is a bit too strong for me. This cigar kind of reminds me of eating a Carolina Reaper pepper, because at first the cigar starts off creamy and smooth with amazing flavor, but then it slowly starts to build in strength, and boy oh boy does this cigar get strong. I get a lot of dark coffee, leather, spice and very rich chocolate as the strength builds. If only the initial flavor of the stogie stayed throughout the cigar, it would have got 5 out of 5 stars for taste from me. But you kind of get used to the boldness of the cigar as you smoke it. So, I give it a 4 out of 5 stars for taste.
As far as everything else goes with this stogie, Perdomo nailed it. The burn is perfect, aroma is fantastic, draw is on point, and the appearance is classy.
I feel like this cigar would be better smoked during a poker and bourbon night with the boys, but you’d definitely need to have a few more mild stogies on deck. Otherwise, you might find yourself going all in way too early in the night.
